Scholar Hostel is overall a normal Hostel. There are rooms with a common washroom and no ventilation but if you get room with terris, it is wonderful. That room have proper ventilation attached clean washroom and provide a good experience overall. Beside this they have solar backup, two times cloth washing facility a week. I spent about two months there and when I visited the Garden Town hostels, Scholar Hostel was looking like a paradize.

Let's start from the top. They offer 3 seaters room only and room are let's say, not spacious enough for 3 individuals. Secondly, food is way too spicy and they don't give you the option to arrange your own food. If you're living in the hostel, you must pay for the food whether you consume it or not. Subsequently, the food quality is sub-standard too. Wardrobes, they give you just one for the whole room which 3 candidates share. So No privacy and Not enough Space for the clothes and stuff. On the positive side, WIFI & Electricity with solar backup is a plus point. Water supply is kinda fair, neither good nor bad. No geyser during winter. Some rooms have attached bathrooms while others share a common one in the corridor. They also offer room cleaning and laundry services. Room cooler during summer with additional chargers. BUT, all of this in just Rs.10,000 which i guess is genuinely affordable.
